Our Mission: Bridging the Digital Divide for Families

The Family Broadband Coalition is on a mission to bridge the digital divide. The digital landscape has evolved into an essential aspect of modern life, influencing education, communication, and economic opportunities. However, many families, particularly in Minneapolis and St. Paul, face barriers to accessing these benefits due to limited internet infrastructure and digital literacy.

Overview:

  • Education: We empower families with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the digital world confidently.

  • Advocacy: We work with legislators to ensure equitable access to high-speed internet.

  • Community Ownership: We explore cooperatively owned internet service providers to make broadband accessible and affordable.

By joining the Family Broadband Coalition, you become part of a revolutionary movement in the Twin Cities.

To participate in the coalition, you must:

- Reside in either Minneapolis or St. Paul.

- Commit 6-10 hours a month.

- Have a genuine interest in internet or broadband issues.

- Be from a Black or Brown family (Black, Indigenous, Asian, Latine).
